We invite you to attend the 9th International Wolbachia Conference to be held at the O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, Lamington National Park, Queensland, Australia, from Tuesday 28 June to Sunday 3 July 2016.
O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat is located in the heart of the World Heritage Area of the Lamington National Park. Lamington National Park sits in the Gold Coast Hinterland, and can be accessed by car and shuttle service from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Both cities have international and domestic airport terminals with frequent direct flights from all major Australian cities and frequent international flights from America, Asia and the Pacific Region with further connections to the rest of the world.
The Lamington National Park is a World Heritage Area in Southeast Queensland and borders New South Wales. It forms part of the Gondwana Rainforests of eastern Australia, the most extensive subtropical rainforest area in the world. The very scenic Lamington National Park is a paradise for bush-walkers and aficionados for bird and other wild-life. It also has good access to water sports and theme parks at the Gold Coast while Brisbane as Queensland state capital houses several museums and art collections of significance. The conference will be in the pleasant subtropical winter that is typically very dry and with mild temperatures ranging from 10°C to mid 20°C for the months of June and July.
The 9th International Wolbachia Conference will be prior to the Society of Molecular Biology and Evolution (SMBE) Conference 2016 which will be held at the Gold Coast, Queensland from the 3 July to 7 July 2016 (http://smbe2016.org/).
